According to Uganda National Standards Bureau Decree 327 and customs clearance and inspection regulations, Uganda's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism carries out pre-export conformity assessment of imported products to Uganda at the country of origin. The purpose of this program is to reduce the inflow of substandard products in Uganda. Since June 9, 2010, the scope of implementation has been carried out in accordance with other standards and technical regulations approved by the Uganda standards or the Bureau of standards. In addition to products imported from Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda to Uganda, all controlled products are subject to mandatory assessment. Controlled products: The products under the prohibited and exempted product catalogues are not under control. The products under the control of Uganda's pre-export conformity assessment program include the following categories: all second-hand products, food and agricultural products, chemical household products, textiles, footwear products, toys, child health products, electronic and electrical products, etc. UG-PVoC certification process includes the following key elements: pre-shipment inspection of goods; inspection and evaluation in qualified laboratories; review of product production process; document conformity inspection; and audit of test reports and standards conformity.
