From October 1, 2014, products exported to Ghana require COC certificates, or they will be fined 30% of the FOB price.
 
To ensure the quality of products, to protect the public health, safety and environment of Ghanaian consumers, and to prevent unsafe, inferior and counterfeit products from entering Ghana,
 
The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) has begun to implement this conformity assessment scheme for all controlled products.
 
This scheme requires that after shipment on October 1, 2014, a conformity assessment certificate (CoC) be issued by the certification authority, which can be used for customs clearance of goods in Ghana.
