L introduction
BSMI is the abbreviation of Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection of the Standards Inspection Bureau of the Ministry of Economy of Taiwan.
According to the announcement of Taiwan's Ministry of Economy, since July 1, 2005, products entering Taiwan should be supervised in two aspects: electromagnetic compatibility and security. According to the different products, it can be divided into the following three certification methods:
Batch-by-batch verification or validation login for type recognition (Category 25)
Such as: computer, cash register, analog or hybrid automatic data processor, portable digital automatic data processor, other digital automatic data processor, other digital automatic data processor, digital processing unit except 8471.41 or 8471.49, terminal, point matrix list machine, laser list machine, chrysanthemum wheel list machine, other list machine, keyboard, shadow machine, etc. Like scanners, other input or output units, special programmable calculators or word processors with memory energy, magnetic or optical readers, data input devices of input data processors, other data processing machines belonging to Section 8471, automatic teller machines, continuous-current power supply (capacity less than 10 KVA), and other continuous-current power supply. Twenty-five products, such as responders, electrical machines with translation or dictionary functions, cartographic tables with data processing systems, and cartographic machines with machines and data processing systems.

Two products, electrostatic converter for automatic data processor and its subsidiary units and communication devices, and other switched power supply, have been changed from conformity statement inspection to commodity verification login.
Declarations of compliance (25 categories, 18 security requirements)
1. There are pocket data machines, reproducing and displaying machines, electronic calculators (other than external power operators), electronic calculators with list devices, other electronic calculators, other calculators, hard disk drives, floppy disk drives, optical drives, other disk drives, other storage units, other automatic data processing units, etc. Seventeen items of parts and accessories of other 8471.10 class machines, such as type B computer motherboard and type B computer interpolation cards with I/O, were originally tested for conformity declaration.
2. The eight products of word processor, automatic typewriter, electric typewriter, other electric typewriters, blind point typewriters (those weighing less than 12 kilograms), blind point typewriters (those weighing more than 12 kilograms), non-electric typewriters (those weighing less than 12 kilograms) and other non-electric typewriters are reclassified as conformity statement (DoC) tests.
3. Seven items of electronic calculator (excluding external power operators), internal magnetic (optical) disc drive, computer motherboard and interpolation card are excluded from the scope of safety inspection.

BSMI certification in Taiwan, China is mandatory. He has requirements for EMC and SAFETY. However, BSMI does not have factory inspection at present, but must act in accordance with the regulations of the Standards Bureau. If your product falls within the following scope, you need to apply for validation to expand the domestic market:
1. Compulsory Commodity Inspection Marking (CI MARK): Electrical products (such as household appliances), electronic products (such as information equipment and entertainment audio-visual equipment), mechanical products (such as electric tools), chemical products (such as tires and toys).
2. Voluntary orthographic identification (CNS MARK): those who have orthographic identification on industrial products, building materials, wires, household appliances, locomotive parts, industrial raw materials, or competitors'products.
3. Voluntary Product Verification Marking (VPC MARK): Safety and Regulation Important Components, Digital Box, Lamp Holder, Battery Charger, Limited Harmful Substances, Lithium Battery, Vehicle Electromagnetic Compatibility, Sports Fitness Equipment, etc.
How to apply for BMSI
BSMI application: There are three ways to apply at present.
There are two types of accreditation:
1. Type Recognition (EMC + Safety), from January 1, 2004, 178 kinds of electronic and electrical products need to apply for such recognition.
Applicable criteria: EMC+Safety. Documents to be provided include (product type approval application, company or factory license, test report, technical documents for electromagnetic compatibility: photos, labels, components with electromagnetic interference, block diagrams and usage manuals, and technical documents for safety regulations).
Certificate validity: three years, renewable once.
2. EMC type approval (replacing the original EMC application) will be enforced from November 1, 2002.
Applicable products: 61 electronic and electrical products only have EMI requirements, 124 electronic and electrical products only need EMI + safety report (if the product has safety requirements). Applicable criteria: only EMI.
Documents to be provided are (EMC type approval applications, test reports, technical documents: photos, labels, components with EMC, block diagrams and use manuals).
Ba certification registration
